Abstract

The decline in Muslims' understanding of the contents of the Qur'an has become an increasingly pressing issue in contemporary society. This phenomenon is influenced by many factors, such as globalization, increasingly rapid technological developments, and changes in religious education models. This condition has the potential to threaten the quality of religious life of Muslims if it is not balanced with a deep understanding of the Qur'an. This study aims to examine the thoughts of Imam Jalaluddin As-Suyuthi regarding the importance of the Qur'an and its relationship to facing the challenges of understanding the Qur'an in the modern era. Through a review of As-Suyuthi's writings and scientific works related to Qur'anic studies, this study uses qualitative methods with a literature study methodology. In the digital era, As-Suyuthi's ideas can provide a solid foundation for improving the standard of Muslims' understanding of the Qur'an. The results of the study indicate that, according to As-Suyuthi, understanding the Qur'an must be based on mastery of supporting sciences, appreciation of its meaning, and application of Qur'anic values ​​in life. These thoughts provide an important foundation for improving the quality of Muslims' understanding of the Qur'an in today's digital era.
